The advent of the federal No Child Left Behind legislation has had profound implications for state systemic reform here in Massachusetts and around the country. In January 2003, the Center on Education Policy (Washington, D.C.) is releasing a major national report, From the Capital to the Classroom: State and Federal Efforts to Implement the No Child Left Behind Act, on the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.

Join us for a panel discussion, designed to raise and explore critical concerns and questions, including:

· What opportunities and obstacles does NCLB pose for Massachusetts?

· How does the Massachusetts case compare to the national experience?

· How do we sustain the momentum of the 1993 education reforms while adapting to the requirements of No Child Left Behind?
